What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy or naturopathic medicine is a form of health care that combines the mainstream and traditional medicine with the natural forms of alternative medicine. Naturopathy is the art of combining the scientific methods of diagnosing with the treatment and prevention methods of alternative medicine. These forms of alternative medicine include:
- Botanical medicine
- Homeopathy
- Traditional Chinese medicine
- Acupuncture
- Yoga
- Naturopathic manipulation
This is just a small list of the possible alternative medicine treatments you will encounter when you seek treatment outside the traditional mainstream treatments and see what the
natural side of healing has to offer.
Naturalpathic Practitioners
A naturopathic doctor is a care practitioner whose goal is to restore physical health in patients by focusing on the patient as a whole entity. They emphasize a
self-healing process which enables patients to learn how to make proper decisions, cleanse their mind and keep their body as a whole healthy and fit. When a person is experiencing symptoms of a disease this is a sign to a naturopathic doctor that the body is not functioning properly. This type of medicine treatment focuses on disease to be a process not an entity. This primary goal for treatment is to treat the underlying problems within a person which will in turn solve their outer problems.
Naturopathy the Happy Medium
Naturopathy has become what many people call the “happy medium” between mainstream medicine and
alternative medical treatments. It is wise to visit a naturopathic doctor before you decide on any type of alternative medicine treatment, as many of these treatments are geared towards specific ailments and it is important to have a professional opinion before you go ahead with any treatment form.
